Galileo Telescope
Saturday, April 5th, 2008Using the Galileo Telescope To View The Heavens
When you use a Galileo telescope, you are looking at light that is being refracted through one lens, where it is then delivered to another lens, or the eyepiece. Refraction technology is used in Galileo telescopes as well as binoculars and even long camera lenses. This type of telescope uses refracting technology to enable the viewer to see objects brighter, larger and clearer than they ever could with just the naked eye. For that reason, many people use Galileo telescopes to view the cosmos, the planets, stars and whatever else resides in the vast reaches of space.
The Origins
The Galileo telescope originated in Venice around the early sixteen hundreds. The first refraction based telescope was already used in the Netherlands but Galileo invented his own version after hearing about people using refracting lenses. He used what he knew about refraction technology and designed the first Galileo telescope. Galileo then used his telescope to map the heavens, lending much of what we know about space and its contents today. Many astronomers and even hobbyists use the Galileo telescope because it allows them to see things they otherwise normally wouldn’t be able to.
